There was so much news coming out of the San Diego Comic-Con that even a week later, we are still getting news of announcements made at the show. Zenescope Entertainment had a few bits of information to share at the con, including the announcement about an upcoming television series.
Lionsgate TV has picked up the Wonderland series after a six-studio bidding war for the rights to adapt the series for television. Smallville Executive Producer Brian Robbins (Head of the Class) will serve as the Executive Producer for the television series. For those not in the know, Wonderland is a retelling of the 1865 novel, Alice in Wonderland.
Zenescope also announced that Neal Adams, Marv Wolfman, Dennis Calero, Nathan Edmondson and Bill Sienkiewicz are adapting the History Channel’s Mankind: The Story of All of Us into comic book form.
Fans visited both the HISTORY® Cross-Country Cookout and the Zenescope Booth to meet and greet the iconic writers, cover artists and illustrators behind “Mankind”, a three-volume series targeting young adults, adapted from the epic, eagerly-anticipated series airing on HISTORY®.
Finally, the company showed off the brand new trailer for the Grimm Fairy Tales the Animated Series at the company’s booth at the show.
