DIGITAL COMICS: Stephanie Brown comes to Smallville

Stephen SchleicherBy Stephen SchleicherJune 15, 20121 Min Read

Earlier this week, we told you Batman would be appearing in Smallville Season 11, a digital first series from DC Comics.  We pondered who was under the mask of Robin, and now we know.

In an interview with TV Guide, Bryan Q. Miller broke the news that instead of Dick, Tim, or Damian, the Robin of the Smallville universe was in fact Stephanie Brown.

“Bruce can be somewhat of an angry man. Stephanie’s personality is so can-do and unsinkable and bright, so it’s very much on purpose on Bruce’s part that he has a good cop going out on patrol with him every night.” (Miller says it will eventually be addressed as to why Stephanie is Nightwing in this comic and not Batgirl.)

Well, I really do like that idea, and I’m sure this may help bump the sales of the digital series as a number of Stephanie Brown fans are sure to check out the debut to see what DC Comics has in store. Unfortunately, I don’t think this will be the Stephanie Brown that Stephanie Brown fans are expecting, which could cause some flack on the Intardwebz.
