Major Spoilers Question Of The Day: Zip Zero Nada Edición

    Matthew PetersonBy Matthew PetersonMay 6, 2012Updated:June 14, 20137 Comments1 Min Read

Free Comic Book Day 2012 has come and gone, and with it has gone my reservations about Marvel’s Avengers (though I’m still unsure about Schwarma.)  As with every FCBD, I expect that there will be a few leftover books when I arrive at work in a few minutes, likely to carry over into next year’s Gatekeeper haul.

The MS-QOTD (pronounced, as always, “misquoted”) is short & to the point:  What was your favorite FCBD offering for 2012?

Once upon a time, there was a young nerd from the Midwest, who loved Matter-Eater Lad and the McKenzie Brothers... If pop culture were a maze, Matthew would be the Minotaur at its center. Were it a mall, he'd be the Food Court. Were it a parking lot, he’d be the distant Cart Corral where the weird kids gather to smoke, but that’s not important right now... Matthew enjoys body surfing (so long as the bodies are fresh), writing in the third person, and dark-eyed women. Amongst his weaponry are such diverse elements as: Fear! Surprise! Ruthless efficiency! An almost fanatical devotion to pop culture! And a nice red uniform.

Archaia hardcover was great. Cow Boy was such a great story in that book that I turned around and headed back to the Comic Book Shop to get the HardCover Graphic Novel of Cow Boy that was out there. Sadly, they didn’t have it, but I’m going to find it. Great story!

Th3rd World Stuff of Legend was great as well. Atomic Robo is next on my list to read.

Atomic Robo had me laughing so hard my wofe made me find the previous FCBD stuff so she could read it.

Also, i enjoyed the Serinity/Star Wars book.

I was really pleased by the Witchblade book. Rodrigo recently reviewed an issue and it didnt make any sense, but now that I’ve read there was a universe reboot (along with a really fast recap of the story so far) I am more interested in reading Witchblade and Darkness again.
