    Press Release

Zenescope Entertainment is proud to announce that Grimm Fairy Tales the Animated Series Kickstarter project has reached its goal of $175,000 on Sunday, April 29th. The project, based on Zenescope’s popular Grimm Fairy Tales comic book series created by Joe Brusha and Ralph Tedesco, will be directed by Jon Schnepp (Metalocalypse, Venture Bros.) with Titmouse, Inc. handling the animation.

The project closes on Tuesday, May 1st, at 6:00 pm EST, so people can still back the project and even become a part of this exciting series. All additional funding past the goal will go towards helping create new episodes for the series to give the backers as much content as possible.

People can still pre-order a digital copy for as little as $15 on the Kickstarter page: http://kck.st/wjSM8D.

“Using Kickstarter for this project allows us as a company to bring our vision to life.” said Zenescope marketing manager Stephen Haberman. “It gives Joe and Ralph the ability to be directly involved in the process. Jon Schnepp is a brilliant director and now we’re able to make the series our fans want to see. It’s moving to see just how passionate they are and we’re lucky to have them.”

The digital comic rewards for the project will be distributed through leading digital distributor, ComiXology.com and their mobile applications, and the series will have a great voice cast which includes Lena Headey (Game of Thrones, 300), Briana Evigan (Devil’s Carnival), Tommy Blancha (China, IL) , Talking Dead host Chris Hardwick  and even MMA fighter Josh Barnett.  Some of the artists already attached include the legendary Bill Sienkiewicz (The New Mutants, Elektra: Assassin), Alex Pardee, Eric Powell, and Roman Dirge.  With this group of names alone, the series already boasts a team loaded with talent. Fans can see updates about this project as well as many others through Zenescope’s Facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/zenescope.

Zenescope Entertainment was founded by Joe Brusha and Ralph Tedesco in 2005 and has quickly grown into one of the top comic book and graphic novel publishing companies in the world.  Zenescope’s Grimm Fairy Tales and subsequent spinoff series such as Escape From Wonderland, Neverland and The Piper, which put a dark twist on classic fables, are some of the best-selling and longest running original independent comic books on shelves today.   Zenescope’s licensed titles include the on-going, critically acclaimed Charmed series, based off of the long-running popular television series, as well as Se7en and Final Destination, based off of New Line Cinema’s successful film franchises.
