FAN FILM: The Dark Knight Rises

Stephen SchleicherBy Stephen SchleicherJanuary 27, 20124 Comments1 Min Read

Are you still waiting for an official trailer for The Dark Knight Rises?  If I had my way, this fan created trailer by Doğan Can Gündoğdu, would be playing in theaters this weekend.

This video was made as a video lesson, which I’m guessing means it was done for a class project.

I think I’m gonna watch this a couple more times.

I think that the thing that actually hooks me with this sort of trailer is that it is weird and mysterious / menacing ( like Gotham and it’s denizens) without relying on giving me the Cliff Notes of the film. I actually feel like I want to find out what is going to happen… I feel more intrigued with this trailer. the The official trailer makes me feel like I already have a fairly good overview of the film that just needs some filling out.

This feels more like the opening to a film rather than a trailer. It gave me a ‘Se7en’ vibe too. Also, seems like it would be more appropriate if the villain were Hugo Strange or the Riddler.

Hugo was the first thing that came to my mind as well. This could almost be an opening for the Arkham City game.
