The one image I’ll always have engraved in my mind from this series was from #4 with Captain America walking up to Thanos, with all the other heroes killed, despite not having a chance in hell to do anything, still walked up to him with that confidence that befits Captain America.

Infinity Gauntlet resounded for me as a kid, and I can vividly remember reading it in a Pizza Hut booth. (Back then it was yummy.) The first real big event I ever read and to this day I can not believe Thanos was defeated.

The image I always recall is Silver Surfer at Thanos’ feet, utterly defeated, with his silver veneer cracked and broken.

In unrelated news you guys should check out Sentinels of The Multiverse if you haven’t already, and maybe share it via an article. Think co-operative Pokemon/Magic with comic style Super-Heroes. My kids really dig it. http://greaterthangames.info/

When I read The Infinity Gauntlet, I had only a passing knowledge of the Marvel Universe characters, but I loved it and it became the first TPB I ever bought. Sadly, with each BIG EVENT that followed, I became less enthused about heading to my local funny book shop, as less story occurred in the main comic and the tie-ins became essential reading.

And in a time before everyone was using computer colouring, Ron Lim made the Surfer actually LOOK silver.

Make sure you guys talk about the “What if… the Silver Surfer possessed the Infinity Guantlet? vol 2 #49 For some reason I loved this book. Excited for the episode guys!
