Press Release
Seattle proves once again that it is a hotbed for comics writers and artists with the Jet City Comic Show returning for it’s second year. Jet City (www.jetcitycomicshow.com) will take place Saturday, September 24, 2011 at the Seattle Center Exhibition Hall in Seattle, WA.
“We’re proud of the fan feedback that we received last year and feel we’ve put together an even better show this year,” says co-founder James Taylor. “Jet City Comics Show is a fan friendly event, a chance for attendees to have fun, be entertained, browse through comics and discover some fantastic artists and writers.”
This year Jet City will be featuring actor William Katt, who is best known for his role as the star of THE GREATEST AMERICAN HERO television show from the early 1980’s. His earliest film credits include Tommy Ross in Brian DePalma’s 1976 film CARRIE, and the role of The Sundance Kid in the 1979 film BUTCH AND SUNDANCE: The Early Days. Forthcoming he stars opposite Elliot Gould in THE ENCORE OF TONY DURAN a recent Jury Prize Winner at the Las Vegas Film Festival
Featured comic book guests will include Dan Brereton (creator/artist: The Nocturnals, Thrillkillers, Giantkiller), Nick Dragotta (artist: Vengeance, Captain America: Forever Allie and more) and Dustin Nguyen (artist: Batman: Streets of Gotham, Detective Comics). The show will feature a number of prominent local writers and artists, including:
• Greg Rucka (writer: Batwoman, Queen & Country)
• Matthew Clark (Ghost Rider, Superman)
• Emi Lenox (creator/artist: Emitown)
• Matthew Southworth (artist: Stumptown)
• Eric Trautmann (Writer: Vampirella, Red Sonja, Flash Gordon)
• Shane White (artist/writer: Things Undone, North Country)
• Justin “Moritat” Norman (artist: Elephantman, The Spirit)
This year Jet City will have nearly 100 tables featuring guests and young up-n-coming writers and artists. Plus over 100 booths with the best pop culture vendors from the Pacific Northwest, there’ll be something for everyone.
Children and adult attendees are encouraged to come dressed as their favorite villain, superhero or pop culture personality for the chance to win special prizes in costume contests.
The show will also be working with local charitable organization Ronald McDonald House.
