It’ll probably look better on screen, but the more I see it the less I like it.

I concur as well. Im starting to think Bane is one of those characters that will always look cool to some degree on the pages of comics…but will ultimately come out campy Nacho Libre or 8mm “S&Mish” in real life.

On Sunday I was walking through Pitt campus on the way over to Phantom of the Attic, when a door opened up and a crowd of soldiers with m4s and swat cops came streaming out of the building. I got mixed in with the crowd that grew to 30 or 40 guys and I noticed the cops had GCPD stenciled on their backs.

I walked along with the crowd, they were all old guys in good shape so I blended in pretty well. The extras saw a bunch of rubberneckers lined up on the hill across from the shoot, the one said “We got a pretty good crowd over there.” And the other said “Let me know when they start flashing their tits”

When we got the security gate I split off from the extras. I might have been able to get on the set but I didn’t want to get in the way. Making an ass of myself on the Batman set would be like a catholic making an ass of himself in the Vatican.

At any rate they were shooting in front of Mellon Institute of Industrial Research. Studios often shoot period pieces and court dramas on that spot. They had also completely covered over South Dithridge street with plywood and were filming night scenes.

Comics Alliance has more shots from this location. These pictures were taken across the street from Mellon Institute of Industrial Research.

I think he looks horrendous, and Bale as Batman is actually bigger and taller. Any chance there’ll be some CG on top to make him look more imposing?

I think the lucahdo mask looks better than this. I’ll still see it but, Nolan’s wearing on me.

It’s one still shot, so I don’t really have an opinion yet. We shall see.

I’m sure there’s going to be some CGI to make Bane look bigger. Though I would have thought that they’d choose a costume that would let Tom Hardy show off his ridiculously toned body (Anyone who has seen Bronson knows what I’m talking about).
