    Press Release

You’ve read the sensational debut and the fantastic second episode of the free online digital comic book prequel to RISE OF THE PLANET OF THE APES – now the exciting epic continues in this third all-new episode revealing the terrifying secrets of the Gen-Sys labs! Visit www.apescomics.com today and every Wednesday to see Alpha and Bright Eyes fight for their lives and spark a revolution that will change the world forever!

“People are going absolutely Ape for our RISE OF THE PLANET OF THE APES free online comic prequel!” says BOOM! Studios Founder and Chief Executive Officer Ross Richie. “Our free online comic book prequel gives Apes fans a taste of the exciting things they’ll see next week when the film debuts worldwide! Be sure to tell you friends via Twitter or Facebook the Apes will rise, and it all begins here at www.apescomics.com.”

Written by the acclaimed PLANET OF THE APES comic series writer Daryl Gregory and drawn by sensational Harvey Award-nominated artist Damian Couceiro (HAWKS OF OUTREMER) and Tony Parker (DO ANDROIDS DREAM OF ELECTRIC SHEEP?) the RISE OF THE PLANET OF THE APES free online comic book prequel sets the stage for the feature film of the same name! RISE OF THE PLANET OF THE APES is the first live-action film in history to star and be told from the point of view of a sentient animal — a character with human-like qualities, who can strategize, organize and ultimately lead a revolution that will spell disaster for all humanity!

Since its debut on July 13th BOOM! Studios has released a brand new 5-page episode of the RISE OF THE PLANET OF THE APES free online comic book prequel every Wednesday on www.apescomics.com. Today marks the third exciting installment of the online prequel with next Wednesday August 3rd debuting another free 5 pages, two days before the film’s release!

In April BOOM! Studios announced they were publishing an all new ongoing PLANET OF THE APES comics series set in the original classic 1968 movie continuity. Subsequently, a flurry of fan interest caused a complete sell-out of PLANET OF THE APES #1, sending the seminal issue into second print even before hitting store shelves!
