One of the things you may have noticed is that there seems to be a direct correlation between the amount of hype sent out regarding a movie and how terrible the movie is. Just something to think about as you cast your gaze on the latest television spot for X-Men: First Class.

Actually, the REALLY horrible movies get released with as minimal fanfare as possible. When studios know a film is going to bomb, they don’t want to put any money into advertising it. So the hype must only come when studios think a movie will be review-proof, that is, that it will make big money in spite of bad reviews….
