According to Deadline, Showtime has picked up the rights to the Image Comics series Chew to turn it into a half-hour cop show. While comedy may bring to mind slapstick goofiness, the comic book is actually full of humorous bits that should translate to the premium cable channel nicely.
Terri Hughs Burton and Ron Milbauer of Eureka fame write the script, which now goes under the microscope for revisions.
