When it comes to parody that goes to the next level, The Venture Brothers show that you don’t have to be a one gimmick show to make something work right… or something.  This week, the powers that be have taken Race Bannon and tossed him in the ring with Brock Samson to see which will make it out alive.

Brock has the advantage of being trained by Race, along with almost insatiable killing instinct. So the student leaves the teacher in a gutted bloody mess.

I declined voting this week because I never watched The Venture Brothers and never liked Johnny Quest. So instead of voting for either of them, I’d like to vote for a slice of chocolate chip cheese cake.

I vote for Brock, he’s a psycho with a license to kill, plus how many killing machines can say they were trained by the bearded lady?

I vote for Race precisely because Brock is a killing machine…and that’s all. Race would cooly dispatch him, puppy in hand, and get back to business.

In other words: Race is like James Bond, Brock is any big stupid henchman that stupidly tries to take out Bond.

      Word.

Oh, how I wish I could vote for Race Bannon, but alas Brock would absolutely obliterate him.

Well since “Venture Brothers” (the show) has already killed race in the first season, I think that automatically defaults Brock for the winner position.

I voted for Race since he wasn’t conceived as a joke unlike Brock Samson who is clearly a jab at all movie action heroes.

Well, the logical answer would be Brock – “Venture Bros” not only killed the character of Race but also any hopes of a well-done Jonny Quest revival, since now entire generations see it as a laughingstock of a franchise thanks to them. So I’m voting for Race out of angry fangirl spite.

Thanks for wrecking the reputation of the first American animated action series, douchebags.

Depends whose playing Race – as I recall Robert Patrick voiced him in one of the newer versions.

But even so, you really can’t compete with any character voiced by Patrick Warburton.

I voted for Race because of the supporting cast. Dr Venture and the twins couldn’t find their @$$ with both hands and a map, by design. Dr. Quest alone would be able to put together something to help Race grasp victory from the jaws of defeat.

I went with Race, because hyper violence doesn’t make you more awesome. its just a different setting. Brock doesn’t have subtlety. Race does and thats why he wins. Big strong guy whom likes killing does not always win.

I do hate to say it, but I believe that Brock would win. Each of the ventures characters is a foil of the Quests, and Race Bannon’s quiet restraint and soft spoken wisdom would not benefit him in the fight. But, Brock would have another psych-out like he did after the initial Hunter storyline.

I’m not sure where people get the idea that Brock is just a killing machine – the dude is clearly the closest thing to a voice of reason that the Venture Family has! Plus, Race is too much a product of his era. He would give Brock that chance to live, and Brock wouldn’t do the same.

Hank and Brock are standing over the dead body of Race Bannon. A distinctive noise and putrid smell erupts from the corpse.

      Hank: “Eww! did he just…”

Brock: “Yeah, they don’t tell you about that part on TV.”
