VIDEO: Awesome Volkswagen/Star Wars Super Bowl commercial is awesome

Stephen SchleicherBy Stephen SchleicherFebruary 3, 20119 Comments1 Min Read

My son has taken quite a liking to the Star Wars universe and loves putting on his Boba Fett and Storm Trooper helmets and running around the house blasting things… he’s three. I’ve been contemplating getting him a Darth Vader outfit, even though we haven’t broken it to him that Anikin and Vader are one in the same (I think we’ll do it on the same day we tell him Santa isn’t real).

I do know that if we did get him a Darth outfit, he’d be just like this kid in this awesome Volkswagen commercial that is schedule to air during the Super Bowl.

I haven’t seen any other commercials from the big game, but I’m casting my vote on this one as the Best of Show.

Excellent! My wife and I loved it!

      That is WAY too cute!!

My goddaughter was similar, but instead of dressing as Darth Vader, she used to carry her toy lightsaber at all times “just in case” and would always try (and to this day occasionally will still try) to do the “Force” thing.

A commercial so scrumtrulescent, I can scarcely move!

The look on his face, even though he has the mask on, you can just see it in his face when he looks at his parents. Great commercial.

      Awesome!!!

I half expected it to be a demo of some magical anti-collision gadget. You know, the kid extends his hand, a sensor gets it and drives the car backwards. Oh well, maybe next year.

thats what I thought as well. Still a cute ad.

…then again, how would you get into your car if it had such a system?
