Formic Wars launch date pushed back

Marvel ComicsBy Marvel ComicsJanuary 26, 20112 Comments3 Mins Read

    Press Release

Marvel has announced a new date of February 16th for parties at participating ComicsPRO (www.comicspro.org) retailers to celebrate the launch for the hotly-anticipated launch of Formic Wars: Burning Earth #1 (of 7), the biggest sci-fi launch in decades. Fans demanded it for decades and now sci-fi legend Orson Scott Card, along with writer Aaron Johnston, presents the stunning prequel to the Ender’s saga of novels. Teaming with ComicsPRO and the nation’s top retailers, Marvel is proud to offer exclusive limited edition prints for customers purchasing Formic Wars at participating stores.

“We’d like to thank retailers for their support of this unique partnership between Marvel and ComicsPRO, but unfortunately due to distribution concerns we’ve been forced to hold the line at February 16th to launch this series,” said David Gabriel, Marvel’s SVP of Sales. “But to show ComicsPRO retailers that we’re sorry about the change, we have some very exciting exclusives that will be announced next week in Dallas.”

Additionally, Chapel Hill Comics in Chapel Hill, NC will hold the official Formic Wars signing event with special guests Orson Scott Card & Aaron Johnston! Please visit www.chapelhillcomics.com for more details.

Retailers, please check with ComicsPRO to learn about additional incentives for Formic Wars: Burning Earth #1.
