TELEVISION: Booster Gold and Blue Beetle cast in Smallville

Stephen SchleicherBy Stephen SchleicherJanuary 24, 20114 Comments1 Min Read

Entertainment Weekly is reporting that Eric Martsolf (Days of Our Lives) has been hired to play Booster Gold in an upcoming episode of Smallville titled “Booster”.  Joining the hero from the future will be Jaren Brandt Bartlett as Jaime Reyes, the Blue Beetle. Add to this news the rumor that Ted Kord will make an appearance in the episode as well.   Geoff Johns, who is writing the episode, says Kord will be played by Sebastian Spence.

It’s really too bad, Warner Bros., DC, and the CW waited until the final two season to start rolling out other DC characters.  Had they done this eight years ago, we might already have a Justice League movie in theaters.

I am happy to see Booster and Beetle show up. I agree with Stephen with them waiting for the final 2 seasons to bring out other names in the show. I just hope they are in an episode that moves the Darkseid story forward. I am getting annoyed at the 1-offs and “elseword” type stories of the final season.

Good but would rather see Ted than Jaime, the classic duo rocks.

Agreed. And being a few months in the future from when this was originally posted, I have the benefit of having seen the new costumes. Booster’s looks like a NASCAR outfit, but it actually looks alright, but Jaime’s Beetle costume looks like a giant Nerf outfit. It’s kinda weird. Needs to be seen in action though.
