    MOVIE: First look at Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides

    Walt Disney Studios sent us a variety of first look images from the upcoming fourth installment of the Pirates of the Caribbean series.

    In PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: ON STRANGER TIDES, Captain Jack Sparrow (Johnny Depp) finds himself on an unexpected journey to the fabled Fountain of Youth when a woman from his past (Penelope Cruz) forces him aboard the Queen Anne’s Revenge, the ship of the formidable pirate Blackbeard (Ian McShane).

    Penolope Cruz, you say?  That might be enough to get me to check this one out.

      Based on the description it sounds like this is just “The Jack Sparrow Show” with none of the characters from the other movies. That might not be a terrible thing considering how convoluted the third movie was. I remember watching it and being so confused about who was who (specifically with all those British Naval people) and in general just what was going on … if they go back to something more like the first movie – a fun pirate tale that can stand alone, doesn’t require another movie to tell the story – this could be a success.
