Morning Glories sees a price drop

Stephen SchleicherBy Stephen SchleicherDecember 1, 20104 Comments1 Min Read

While I haven’t seen an official announcement of a company wide price change, those who have paid close attention to some of Image Comics recent announcements have seen the $2.99 cover price appear more than once. That trend continues in the Nick Spencer Morning Glories series which will see a cover price drop from $3.50 to $2.99 beginning in February.

“We wanted to thank the dedicated fans of MORNING GLORIES for all their support. We wouldn’t be able to drop the price of the comic if they hadn’t embraced the series so whole-heartedly. So, thank you, and stay tuned for more twists as the Glories take on the Academy!” said Jim Valentino, Shadowline Publisher.

A quick look at the Image Comics solicitations for February breakdowns as follows:

    • $2.99 – 18 issues
    • $3.50 – 8 issues
    • $3.99 – 4 issues

Regardless if this is temporary or a permanent trend for all publishers, it’s good news for comic book readers.

This is really nice news. I can’t wait for this to be traded so I can buy it. It looks like a fantastic story.

The first trade of the first six issues arrives in February as well. It will go for $9.99.

WOW! That’s really cheap! I’ll definately get it for that price!

It is a really good story thus far. You should get the trade and then start picking up the floppys if you can. I just don’t want another good title to die because too many people are all waiting for the trade and the publishers decide to cancel it too soon.
