Stephen SchleicherBy Stephen SchleicherSeptember 22, 20104 Comments1 Min Read

The Pet Avengers must be a popular subject as Marvel has another series featuring the animal heroes in the works.  Marvel sent Major Spoilers a sneak peek of Avengers vs. Pet Avengers #1, that you can check out after the jump.

Earth’s Mightiest Heroes are downsizing. Literally. This looks so cheesy it’s giving me gas.
I might check it out, though, because I do get a laugh out of seeing the “lighter” and humorous sides of the Marvel Universe.

Meh, the Pet Avengers was a cute idea that didn’t quite work out. I’d rather see the adventures of Lockjaw all by himself.

I think the art looks great and while I’m sure the story is stupid, I don’t know why but I like the idea behind it. Take those silly sidekick animals and make a team out of them. It’s simple and silly, but kinda funny if handled right. I’ve always wanted to see a cartoon that had a team-up of Snarf, Orko, Cringer, Needler (from Pirates of Dark Water), Blip, Gleek, and really insert your own favorite animal pal. Gloop and Gleep if you want, Avenger, Dyno-Mutt. I’d just like to at least see a poster of all these characters together but made to look all feral and vicious. But I’m partial to characters like that, I’m one of the few it seems who actually liked Scrappy Doo.
