SDCC’10: Rob Lowe is Captain Marvel

Stephen SchleicherBy Stephen SchleicherJuly 23, 20107 Comments1 Min Read

When the Young Justice animated series arrives on the Cartoon Network, Captain Marvel will make an appearance and will be voiced by Rob Lowe.  That’s the word coming out of the San Diego Comic Con and more will be announced during the the Batman: The Brave and the Bold panel taking place Friday morning at the show.

Young Justice features a band of teenage sidekicks — Robin, Superboy, Aqualad, Kid Flash, Artemis and Miss Martian — who are eager to hit the superhero big-time, much to the dismay of their mentors in the Justice League of America. “This is a show about the lives of the young heroes and their need to prove themselves to their mentors, their families, to each other and most of all to themselves,” says producer Greg Weisman.

Even though Captain Marvel is an adult, Weisman says he should bond easily with younger viewers, since Billy Batson is a young kid. The good news is Captain Marvel will become a recurring character on the show.

At least I know Miss Martian, who is Artemis? Is she a real character or created for the show.

          • Damascus on August 6, 2010 2:09 am

Okay, I’m guessing she’s the Artemis from Wonder Woman. Maybe. I’ve never really read Wonder Woman.
