Wizard World Philadelphia 2010 Photo Parade

    BrianBy BrianJune 15, 20102 Comments2 Mins Read

This past weekend Philly welcomed back its biggest comic book convention. This year was the largest attendance it’s ever had. Take the jump to see some of the cosplayers in attendance!

This weekend was Wizard World Philadelphia 2010 and boy am I exhausted. This is the first year in a long time that I went for all 3 days of the event. I happily gave all my money to the talent in artist alley such as Greg Horn, Billy Tucci, Ken Haeser, Christopher Uminga, Jeff Cohn, Dave Hower, RAK Graphics, and Hero Art. Aside from that, I spent most of my time raiding discount comic boxes for trades, back issues and action figures. My prized purchases were a Deluxe Hellboy Animated figure by Gentle Giant, Castlevania: the Belmont Legacy trade (the Castlevania fan in me has been looking for this for years), a book signed by Adrianne Curry, the DVD of Generation X (if you haven’t read the From The Vault review by Sam Dunham, head over and check it out), a sketch of the Living Corpse by Ken Haeser, and a very good friend of mine surprised me with a Wizard World Chicago 2004 exclusive Batman figure. Celebrities in attendance were Patrick Stewart, Adam West, Bruce Campbell, Linda Hamilton, Ernie Hudson, James Marsters and many, many more. When all was said and done, it was the best year I’ve ever had but I’m glad it’s over. If anyone needs me, I’ll be asleep for the next few days.

Ah, comics! Is there anything they can't do? I've been reading comics since the second grade when my friend lent me a copy of Spider-man where a strange black alien ooze broke Eddie Brock out of the jail cell he shared with Cletus Cassidy. I mostly read Spiderman and the X-men in my youth until a TV show named Batman the Animated Series came along. It took me until the issue of Hush subtitled "Punch Line" to buy a DC comic though. Since then, I've been reading and collecting nonstop. Favorite comics: Superman/Batman, Batman, Detective Comics, anything by UDON, and Buffy: the Vampire Slayer Favorite writers: Geoff Johns, Dwayne McDuffy, and Gail Simone Favorite artists: Ed Benes, Ian Churchill, Alvin Lee, Jim Lee, and Dustin Nyugen Favorite "can read anytime" book: JUSTICE
