I swear one of these weeks, I’m going to run nothing but Dustin Ngueyn art every day. His stuff is so amazing, that I could stare at it for hours upon end. While I’m sure it would upset some, here’s a least a one day look at Dustin’s Huntress and Manbat double-page spread. SWEET!
i try not to post too much actual interior work here, but i had a lot of fun on this page and wanted to share. its the 2 page spread from our issue of Batman Streets of Gotham out next month. pencils and partial inks by me, the rest to be polished and made better by Derek.
i think a lot of people will ask why not ink the whole thing, or why not have derek ink the whole thing? the best answer i have is because its easier for me to visualize and lay down stuff like this because i dont consider it pencil or ink, but rather just drawing. the small nuances that the traditional brush and ink create is not something you can plan for.
Derek does what i could never attempt to do with the quil, and i leave that to him. At the same time, there are things i simply cant do with a pencil either. so i have to go in with the brush myself before turning it over to derek sometimes.

I would love the week you show nothing but Dustin Nguyen’s art. I like it so much I picked up a title only b/c he was the artist.
VERY nice effect with the guns and all showing through Man-Bat’s membranes(sp?)
Oh, and look, HUNTRESS has a thigh belt! I still like that accessory, haters be danged.
I like this costume look for her-it’s hard to take an urban crimefighter seriously with thigh high, heeled boot, bare arms and a plunging neck line to go with her cape. She looks “ready fo’ bidness” in this outfit! Yeah, baby!
This dude makes me feel like I’m a failure…LOL. Man that’s awesome!
