The Stand: Captain Trips is over, and it’s time for the survivors begin to adapt to the changes in the world. Marvel is ready to kick off the second chapter of the series with The Stand: American Nightmares #1, that arrives March 11, 2009.

The superstar creative team of Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, Mike Perkins and Laura Martin, who brought you one of the most critically acclaimed series of last year, The Stand: Captain Trips, reunites to deliver a shocking tale of despair and destruction unlike any other before! The few, brave survivors must adapt to a reality they never thought possible. This new chapter of the beloved Stephen King novel begins with a cover by Mike Perkins, a stylish variant cover by the red-hot Lee Bermejo, a Lincoln Tunnel variant by superstar David Finch, and a can’t-miss sketch variant cover by Perkins!

I’m a huuuuge fan of The Stand, as my paperback is ragged after having read it on more long distance family vacations and plane rides than I can count. I know the story, so I’m staying away until the collections hit.
