Dustin Nguyen Art Continues to Rock

I’ve been away from the DeviantArt scene for a while, so I’ve been failing ot check in with what Detective Comics artist Dustin Nguyen was up to.  Here are two spectacular pieces he’s completed recently; one for an upcoming Detective Comics cover, and another simply titled Red Carpet.

Yeah, you’ll want to take the jump and click on the full sized image.

This drawing initially started with just 4 redheads, but the layout kept looking off balance to me so i kept adding more and more girls. before i knew it, i was at 11 so i had to stop. and it still looks off balanced.

i realize group shots like this usually raise the conversations of “you forgot her and her” or” why’s her costume this and that” and the obligatory drapes and carpet question. come on guys.

batman takes on the madhatter and the wonderland folks!

hell, it surprised me more than anyone when DC let me pass this as a cover. I am a HUMONGOUS fan of guys like rackham and dulac, not only were they genius storybook illustrators, but their technique and style always amazed me and pushed me to do more.

Both extremely awesome.  These are just two examples, of why Nguyen is on the short list of my favorite Batman artists.

I absolutely love Dustin Nguyen’s work on Batman. I hope to get a sketch from him one day at a convention.
