DC HeroClix: Arkham Aylum Sells Out Before It Sells Out

Good news for gamers, and the HeroClix line – the new Arkham Asylum line has sold out at the distributor level in North America a week before they are sold in stores.

DC HeroClix: Arkham Asylum brings BATMAN’s most dangerous villains to players’ tabletops to re-wage the wars of their favorite comic, film, and television storylines.

I’ve stopped buying HeroClix, simply because I don’t have time to play the game, nor the time to chase down the exclusives that sell for the big bucks, but every time I see a new DC line announced, I’m so, so, tempted to get back in.

    Press Release

October 15, 2008 (SEATTLE) — WizKids Inc. announces the manufacture sell-in of DC HeroClix®: Arkham Asylum.  WizKids’ entire inventory of Arkham Asylum, releasing October 22, has been completely sold in to distribution in North America due to overwhelming preorder sales.  DC HeroClix: Arkham Asylum brings BATMAN’s most dangerous villains to players’ tabletops to re-wage the wars of their favorite comic, film, and television storylines.

“DC HeroClix: Arkham Asylum is shaping up to be a very strong set for WizKids,” said Andre Lawless, Director of Marketing for WizKids, Inc. “Given the success of BATMAN on the big screen this year and the overwhelmingly positive retailer and fan response to the quality of the set – led by the Clown Prince of Crime ‘Buy it by the Brick’ figure -  we expect this release to do very well.”

Although supplies are limited, North American retailers can still purchase Arkham Asylum through Alliance Game Distributors (1.800.452.6642) or Diamond Comic Distributors (1.800.669.4263 x1005) and should contact their sales representatives for preorder information.  European retailers should contact their local distributors.
