    Press Release

Baltimore, Maryland – September 6, 2008 – Baltimore Comic-Con is known as a family friendly comic book convention, but that gets turned up to a whole new level September 27 and 28, as the creators of such kid-friendly comics as Tiny Titans, Amelia Rules, Scooby-Doo, Buzzboy, and others join together in a special Kids Comics Pavillion with the ever-friendly diner theme, courtesy of Kids Love Comics and the Baltimore Comic-Con.

Kids and families will be welcome to a truly interactive experience, as comics artists and writers will be on hand at the booth and at special programming to talk about how they create comics, and help kids to create their own comics characters. Coloring sheets, crayons, and pencils will be at select drawing stations at the Comic Book Diner, encouraging creativity and fun throughout the weekend. Also on hand will be Disney artist Ted Tucker, creating caricatures for kids of all ages, and a temporary tattoo station will be set up by his bride, artist Marie Tucker.
Joining already announced kids’ comics creators Andy Runton (Owly) and Jeff Kinney (Diary of a Wimpy Kid), creators at the Comic Book Diner include Jimmy Gownley (Amelia Rules), Art Baltazar and Franco (Tiny Titans, Patrick the Wolfboy), Frank Camuso (Knights of The Dinner Table, Max Hamm), Steve Conley (Astounding Space Thrills), Scott Sava (Dreamland Chronicles), John Gallagher (Buzzboy, NASCAR Heroes) and Rich Faber (Buzzboy, Roboy Red), Scott Cohn (Krypto, Justice League Unlimited), Mark McKenna (Banana Tail), Dean Trippe (Butterfly), Jamie Cosley (Tony Pony), and Jason Horn (Ninjasaur)– and many others!
“Marc Nathan and the fine folks at the Baltimore Comic-Con always put on a great, family-friendly show– we’re just so thankful that they have been so supportive in setting up this fun experience as part of the show,” said John Gallagher, KLC member and creator of Buzzboy. “And, oh yeah, we get to sell comics, too!”

The comic book diner will be offering up creator sketch trading cards to convention-goers, featuring charcter pics on one side and a blank area for free quick sketches by KLC creators. Also offered up at the show will be free mini-comics for NASCAR Heroes from NASCAR Comics and Starbridge Media, making its Baltimore Comic-Con premiere. NASCAR Heroes is the all-ages adventure story of a super-powered race car team. Other premieres will be announced soon, and everyone is encouraged to check out the Baltimore Comic-Con and Kids Love Comics websites.
