    Major Spoilers Shameless Plug Time

Stephen SchleicherBy Stephen SchleicherApril 28, 20088 Comments2 Mins Read

    majorspoilersplug.jpg

It’s looking to be a slow day for news and reviews, so I thought I’d take a moment to throw in a few shameless plugs for Major Spoilers.

    • Don’t forget, voting is still open for the Major Spoilers Top 10 Trade Paperback list. You’ll have to head over to the Major Spoilers Forum to cast your vote. Only 19 votes? Come on guys, I know there are more of you who want to weigh in on this issue.
    • There’s only one more week to go in the Major Spoilers Hero Drive. Subscribe or download the Major Spoilers podcast and for every “subscriber” the show has, Major Spoilers will donate money to the Hero Initiative. We’re up to $250, but would like to donate $250 more.
    • Speaking of the podcast, this week we are reviewing Noble Causes: In Sickness and in Health trade paperback. If you would like to share your thoughts on the issue, and possibly have those comments read on the show, make sure you post your comments before noon on Tuesday April 29, 2008.
    • We’ve been fortunate to have some great guests on the show, and on the next episode, the Major Spoilers Podcast welcomes Wes Molebash to the show. Wes has a different take on web comics, discusses his experience with Zuda Comics, and shares his views on creator owned work.
    • Got an iPod Touch or iPhone? Add the Major Spoilers site to your Home Screen for a special icon that will get you fast access to the site.
    • Final item, and a question: I’m thinking of opening up the Major Spoilers Podcast for sponsorships. Thought? We aren’t making any money from the show (or site) right now, and we do have ongoing costs that will need to be addressed in the near future, and I’m throwing around some ideas.

Okay, plug time over – if you are looking for something to do this afternoon, while waiting for the next update, might I suggest throwing some link love to the Hero History: Shrinking Violet entry.

Questions, feedback and suggestions are always welcome.

Hey guys I love the show, but I have one gripe. You spend alot of time on just the big companies it seems, like marvel or mainly DC, I know most of you are dc fans. But what about viper comics, or just grab a indy off the shelf during the week, like maybe something you would not normaly pick up. I would love to hear more indy stuff, becasue they tend to have good stories, like my up coming book, lol…

But people like myself would love a random plug about their book they spent alot of time on. Thanks

      Brad

We have reviewed titles from Image, Virgin Comics, Red5, IDW Publishing, and Boom! Studios to name a few. I think I’m the only hardcore DC fan, with Rodrigo and Bryan in the Marvel camp, and Matthew split between the two.

We actually spend more time reviewing Marvel titles than DC, but we are trying our best to pick up titles we wouldn’t normally review (see all our thoughts on Boom! Studios and Red5 comics for example) – but that’s just me being nit-picky :D

Depending on what review copies we get in (hint, hint) we do try to review the indie titles when we can (See Wulf and Batsy review from a month or so ago).

      Thanks for commenting Brad!

Josh: What about listener sponsorship, similar to what other podcasts are doing, whereby listeners can get their named mentioned at the top of the show:

“This podcast is brought to you by contributions from Josh P, Josh S. and Brad. Thanks for your support of the Major Spoilers Podcast”

Cool, thanks for the reply, I have only listened to the past 4 show or so, I am still new to your pod cast. So I will listen to the older ones also. But it just felt like that the past few weeks. Green Lantern this or That, or even Skrulls, lol. but cool.

BTW, Can green lantern travel in time with his powers, becasue I had my nephews over or a sleep over this weekend, and on super friends, he use his ring to travel back in time to stop the legion of doom. So I am curious.

Also did you get ahold of Greg Hildebrandt or Joe Kurbert yet?

Brad: Haven’t made contacts with those two yet, although they are on the list – we are working on a really major name at the moment, and after next week’s interview he may be stepping up to the mic. :D No hints or spoilers on that one.

As far as time traveling lantern – not that I know of, but we’ll ask Matthew on the show this week.
