    Farscape Goes Boom!

If movies are dipping into comic books for inspiration, then comics have been having a field day with fan favorite shows like Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Angel, Ghost Whisperer, Doctor Who, and Serenity. You can now add one more title to the bunch – Farscape, which is headed to Boom! Studios for a new series later this year.

Boom! will produce a series of four-issue mini-series which will further the Farscape storyline. Each of those mini-series will likewise be collected in trade-paperback form.

“FARSCAPE took science fiction television to a new level and ushered in a whole host of shows that wouldn’t have been possible without FARSCAPE’s pioneering. As a long-time ‘Scaper’, I am incredibly excited to mine the dense universe of FARSCAPE for new stories and adventures in comic book form,” said BOOM! Marketing and Sales Director, Chip Mosher. “I watched the show as it came out, I bought the DVDs the day they hit the shelves, and I can’t frelling wait to publish these comics!”

As of yet, the writing and art team have not been announced, but the team will be around for all of the mini-series. Story wise, Farscape, the comic book, will take advantage of the upcoming webisodes currently in production by The Jim Henson Company for Scifi.com.

Frell Me. I guess the good folks at Boom! Studios were paying attention to that poll you fellas ran not too long ago. My ‘Scaper heart went pitter patter when I saw John Crichton & Aeryn Sun in comic book form. Absolutely fantastic news.

FarScape already have a comic frrom WildStorm, but this new series would be great. Does anyone know is Boom! to release the Godfather Chronicles?
