Major Spoilers Podcast Campaign to Aid Hero Initiative

    Press ReleaseBy Press ReleaseApril 2, 2008Updated:December 31, 20137 Comments2 Mins Read

Listener Drive Raises Money for Comic Creators

    Major Spoilers Hero Drive 2008

The month of April is pledge month for the Major Spoilers Podcast (www.majorspoilers.com). But unlike other pledge drives that ask listeners to give money, Major Spoilers is flipping the tables and pledging money directly to the Hero Initiative (http://www.actorcomicfund.org/) to aid comic creators.

“When I learned there were comic creators who needed funds for medical attention, or simply a hand to make it through a rough time, I knew we needed to do something to help – a way of saying thank you for years of great reading,” said Major Spoilers founder Stephen Schleicher. “The Hero Initiative has raised thousands of dollars to help creators in need, and we hope our giving will aid in their effort.”

The Major Spoilers Hero Drive runs through the month of April. At the end of the month, Major Spoilers will contribute 50-cents for each subscriber to the Major Spoilers Podcast (up to $500) directly to the Hero Initiative.

“We are honored that MajorSpoilers.com has chosen The Hero Initiative as the charity recipient for their fundraiser.  Its organizations such as MajorSpoilers.com that help us raise the funds that are necessary to do what we do best.  And this one actually costs the fans nothing!” said Jim McLauchlin, The Hero Initiative President.

“Even though Major Spoilers is pledging money for each of our listeners, we’re hopeful everyone will get in the spirit of giving and pledge a few dollars as well,” said Schleicher.

Hey Stephen, would it be alright if I posted this article in its entirety on my MySpace blog and/or over on my Comicspace page?

By all means! Copy and paste away – anyone can do this as it is a press release, not feature, etc. The more people that know about this event, the more people will subscribe and listen to the podcast, and the more money we can raise for a worthy cause!
