Hasbro has announced toy tie-ins for the Marvel Iron Man movie and comic franchise. The Iron Man mask actually looks pretty cool, it’s just too bad it doesn’t come in 30-year-old-comic-nerd sizes.

IRON MAN products available Spring 2008

    IRON MAN N.R.F. 425 BLASTER
    (Approximate Retail Price: $19.99; Ages 6 & up; Available: March 23, 2008)
Kids will enjoy recreating the excitement, energy and action of the Iron Man movie through roleplay, and Hasbro’s IRON MAN N.R.F. 425 BLASTER is the perfect item to bring that experience to life! This blaster features 10 rapid-fire repulsor darts and even comes with FLYPAPER™ Iron Man targets and poster.

IRON MAN MASK & REPULSOR GAUNTLET
    (Approximate Retail Price: $19.99; Ages: 5 & up; Available: March 23, 2008)
The new IRON MAN MASK & REPULSOR GAUNTLET roleplay set lets kids feel as if they are the man within the armored suit. Styled after the Iron Man Mark III armored suit from the movie, the set allows kids to begin their quest to protect the world by putting on the Iron Man mask and firing the wrist gauntlet’s repulsor ray discs at their evil adversaries.

    REPULSOR-POWER IRON MAN
    (Approximate Retail Price: $19.99; Ages: 4 & up; Available: March 23, 2008)
The 12-inch-tall REPULSOR-POWER IRON MAN action figure is styled after the character’s Mark III armored suit to be featured in Marvel Studios’ upcoming Iron Man movie. Featuring a variety of electronic lights and sounds, this is a must-have figure in every fan’s collection.

Other IRON MAN products available Fall 2008

    AIR STRIKE IRON MAN

(Approximate Retail Price: $29.99; Ages: 8 & Up; Available: Fall 2008)
Kids will love reenacting the excitement of Iron Man’s aerial maneuvers from the movie. Hasbro’s
AIR STRIKE IRON MAN figure shoots high into the sky, then launches a jet at its peak so the hero can sail back to Earth.

    INVINCIBLE IRON MAN ACTION FIGURE
(Approximate Retail Price: $29.99; Ages 4 & up; Available: Fall 2008)
Iron Man is defined by his amazing arsenal of weapons and gear. Excellent. That mask is perfect for those moments when I want to screw over my friends and justify it in the name of “a better tomorrow.”

      …

Is that too much? I never know.

Hasbro did throw us Transformers fans a bone when they made the Optimus Prime voice changing helmet big enough to fit our domes. We might get just as lucky this time around. Of all the products at Toy Fair (at least that I’ve seen thus far) the Iron Man products have me all atwitter. Thankfully they are in the 6″ scale so that they can hang with everything else Marvel’s put out … oh except for the Spider-Man 3 line …..
