    Free Comic Book Day

Free Comic Book Day a Success for Comic Book Ink

Stephen SchleicherBy Stephen SchleicherMay 7, 20072 Mins Read

The best part about Free Comic Book Day is it has the potential to bring in so many new comic book readers. All across the country stores opened their doors to crowds who had never even stepped foot in a comic store before. According to Comic Book Ink in Tacoma, Washington this was the biggest year ever for the company.

Take the jump for their photo diary and much more…and uh… Power Girl!

    Over 7,000 Comics given away!!!!

Hundreds upon Hundreds of NEW Visitors mixed with Hundreds upon Hundreds of Returning Fans!!!

Darth Vader! Stormtroopers! Bounty Hunters lead by Boba Fett!

    Power Girl!!!

A line for Sketches out the door!!!

Regal Cinemas RAN OUT of Crown Cards for folks to sign up for!!!

And the recurring themes? “WOW! This is my first time at a Comic Book Shop…and its even better than I thought it would be!!” “THIS IS BIGGER and BETTER than last year!”

We are overwhelmed (and still recovering) from the FREE COMIC BOOK DAY Party last Saturday, May 5th, 2007 that lead to a record attendance day at the shop!!! We ordered 25% more than last year and still were blowing them out the door…just wait until you see NEXT year!!

Wow! What a crowd! Congrats on attracting so many new readers.

For the rest of you comic book shop owners out there, how did your event go? Send us photos!
