Dark Horse Deluxe, the merchandising division of Dark Horse comics, has announced two new products. First out of the gate is a pair of bookends based on the Mutts syndicated comic strip. The bookends feature Earl and Mooch and are slated for an April release for $99.99.
The beautiful image and info on Jimbo, after the jump.
“The Dark Horse Mutts bookends are classic. They have an elegant look and capture the spirit of Earl and Mooch in a charming way” says Mutts creator, Patrick McDonnell. “As a book lover and comic-fan, I couldn’t be more pleased.”
Next up is the first authorized vinyl figure of Jimbo, the quasi-heroic denizen of Dal Tokyo, Gary Panter’s hypothetic Martian space colony.
Since his explosive appearance on the Los Angeles punk scene in the early 1970s, to his strong work in venues like Art Spiegelman’s RAW magazine, Jimbo has inspired, puzzled, enraged and captivated artists and graphic story readers worldwide.
Jimbo stands 9.5″ tall, features a fabric costume (yes ladies, he is anatomically correct if you look beneath), and is scheduled for a 2,500 limited-edition release. Jimbo will be available late July 2007 for a suggested price of $34.95.
