Dragon’s Lair #2: Giving Credit Where Credit is Due

After a successful release at the San Diego International Comic-Con in 2006, fans have been anticipating the next installment of Don Bluth’s Dragon’s Lair saga. Well, wait no more. Issue 2 is in stores right now!

The story for the issue was penned Andy Mangels, a USA Today best-selling author and co-author of over a dozen novels. Mangels is no stranger to comics, having written for everyone from Marvel and DC to Topps and Warp Graphics over his 20 year career. Andy is also the curator for the online Wonder Woman Museum, having collected Wonder Woman memorabilia since the 1970s which shows his strong dedication to a comic franchise.

Mangels was incorrectly credited in issue 2 as having only plotted the issue, for which we apologize. Issue 2 is, in fact, all Andy. Issue 1 (which reprints issue 1 thru 3 of the MVCreations Dragon’s Lair series) and Issue 2 were all scripted by Mangels. He has done an amazing job on this series which retells the story seen in the original video game with lots of extras that flesh out the story in a way that fans never imagined. His six issue plot was also referenced for the upcoming issues 3 and 4, scripted by Ryan Foley.

Picking up where issue 1 left off, issue 2 finds Dirk invading the Dark Kingdom to free Princess Daphne from the clutches of the evil dragon, Singe. The epic battle includes a showdown between our hero and the Mud Men that is not to be missed.

Travel to a time of Sword and Sorcery; a time of Dragons and Damsels in distress! Follow Dirk the Daring and Princess Daphne as continue their adventure and battle Singe and his evil minions. Its action, adventure, romance, and the witty dialogue you have come to expect from Dirk and company. Dragon’s Lair #2 (Of 4) $3.95 available now.
