MOVIES: Superman vs. Optimus Prime…
If Optimus Prime and Superman had a fight, who would win? This picture is from the upcoming Man of Steel movie, directed by Zach Snyder, and we couldn’t pass up the chance to tweak that headline to draw you in, because really a headline that read, “Truck wrapped around a telephone pole” just isn’t that big of a draw.

MOVIES: Dr. Hamilton to appear in Man of Steel
According to Variety, Richard Schiff has joined the cast of Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel, playing Dr. Hamilton. Most will remember Dr. Hamilton from the Superman: The Animated Series show, but the character originally appeared in Adventures of Superman #424 (January 1987) as a main villain. While no one is saying if The West Wing star will be a villain or a hero, Shiff should make a great Prof. Hamilton.

Sometimes, just sometimes, we tend to shift our gaze to women dressed in revealing clothing, or less. This one is for the ladies who want to see some hunky men. Henry Cavill was spotted on the set of The Man of Steel movie running around in the rain shirtless.
MOVIE: Superman gets new mom
Deadline is reporting that Julia Ormond will not be playing Superman’s mother in the upcoming Man of Steel movie. Instead, it looks like Ayelet Zurer (Angels and Demons) has been cast to play Lara Lor-Van. No word on why Ormond moved on, or why Zack Snyder made the change, but Zurer is expected to start filming this week.

Today, Justice League #1 arrived in comic book stores, featuring a whole new costume for many of the heroes, including an underwear-on-the-outside-less Superman. Coincidentally, we finally get detailed images of Superman’s costume from the upcoming Zack Snyder Man of Steel movie that is pretty revealing.

Though it looks like the Superman costume we are used to, it does look a little thicker and almost looks like the amour costume Jim Lee has cooked up. Can’t really tell in the picture if he’s wearing his underwear on the outside, but I do see the texturing looks similar to that Spider-Man costume we’ve seen recently. Guess that is the new H’wood way…

MOVIE: Fishburne cast as Perry White
After Marvel’s big news yesterday, there was really only one way for DC/Warner Bros. to step up – announce that Laurence Fishburne will play Perry White in Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel movie.
Yup, we now know what Fishburne will be doing following his surprise exit from CBS’ CSI this past May.
Over the years, there have been a number of talented actors who have played Clark Kent’s boss at the Daily Planet, including Jackie Cooper, who played the newspaper chief in the 1978 Christoper Reeve Superman movie. This is pretty big news, but I really wonder if they’ll make Fishburne say, “Great Caesar’s Ghost!”?
Fishburne now joins a rather impressive cast that consists of Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Kevin Costner, Diane Lane, and Michael Shannon.
MOVIE: Man of Steel moved to 2013
Originally, Warner Bros. had slated Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel Superman movie for December 2012, but now the studio has announced it is shifting the release date.
The new date for Man of Steel has been set for June 14, 2013. This aligns the movie with the Summer Blockbuster season, but there’s been no official word on why the move took place. It could have been simply to see what other studios had in the works. We already know Monsters University is set for a June 21 opening. Everyone seems pretty up on David Goyer’s take on the hero, and Christopher Nolan has been keeping a close eye on production, so any real story/director/casting issues are probably not the case.
Of course the push means that if the studio is trying to get a Justice League movie out, this push may have affected that movie release- as well as The Flash, and the rebooted Batman flick – as well.
MOVIE: Harry Lennix joins Man of Steel
According to Variety, Harry Lennix has signed on to Zack Snyder’s Man of Steel flick currently in production. The paper claims a high-ranking military officer named General Swanwick.

According to Variety, Warner Bros. has found a villainess for the upcoming Superman movie in the form of German actress, Antje Traue. Traue will play Faora in The Man of Steel.
