One of my favorite Anime films of all time is Hayao Miyazaki’s Laputa: Castle in the Sky.  I’m thinking up a theme for the week, and found this lovely piece of art by an artist who calls himself StarryJohn. For those not familiar with Laputa, the wiki has all the answers: According to legend, humans were fascinated with the sky; therefore they created increasingly sophisticated ways of lifting aircraft from the ground. This eventually led to flying cities and fortresses. Over time, the cities came crashing back to the ground, forcing the survivors to live on the ground as before.
