When I first started writing this article I was wondering what Nintendo was doing wrong, why hadn’t they given the Wii the upgrades it needs? With sales steadily declining, and Kinect grabbing lots of attention, how could they expect to stay on top with a console that doesn’t even have HD? And so I started looking deeper, and after some research I came to a somewhat startling realization. Nintendo was doing everything right.

Batman: Brave and the Bold video game trailer arrives

SDCC’09: Dead Space Extraction game gets comic

Visceral GamesTM, a studio of Electronic Arts Inc. (NASDAQ: ERTS), and Image Comics today announced the release of an all-new comic based on Dead SpaceTM Extraction, one of the fall’s most anticipated games for the Wii. The Dead Space Extraction comic reunites renowned illustrator Ben Templesmith and writer Antony Johnston with the game’s cold and terrifying fiction. This one-time special issue comic follows the successful partnership for last year’s Dead Space comic mini-series.

Star Wars: Clone Wars Online Comic

Can’t get enough Star Wars: Clone Wars?  Head over to StarWars.com to check out exclusive web comics written by Pablo Hidalgo that compliment each new weekly episode.

Four different artists offer unique and intriguing interpretations of the signature style of Lucasfilm Animation, and the stories serve as a “prequel” to individual episodes, showcasing the backstory that precedes the on-screen action.

The online comics are available only at StarWars.com, which debuts a new story every Monday.

If that’s not enough, fans can also get their game on with the Star Wars The Clone Wars; Lightsaber Duels for the Wii, and Star Wars The Clone Wars: Jedi Alliance on the Nintendo DS.

Nerdtaclar II Gets Wii

For those of you who are interested in the Nerdtacular II event hosted by Scott Johnson at MyExtraLife (and sponsored by your very own Major Spoilers), you might be interested to know there are going to be some great prizes at the event. The biggest so far is a Nintendo Wii.

A lucky Nerdtacular attendee will receive one of these bad boys in a drawing before the movie. How cool is that? Too cool, that’s how cool. I wish I could give the donator more props but he want’s to remain anonymous.
