MOVIES: Disney announces three more actors for Frozen

Walt Disney Animation Studios (WDAS) has tapped a trio of talented actors to join the voice cast in “Frozen.” Josh Gad (“The Internship,” “Love & Other Drugs,” Broadway’s “The Book of Mormon”) provides the voice of Olaf the snowman; Santino Fontana (Broadway’s “Cinderella,” “Brighton Beach Memoirs,” “Billy Elliot”) lends his vocal talents as Hans; and Alan Tudyk (“42,” “Wreck-It Ralph,” ABC’s “Suburgatory”) joins the film as the voice of the Duke of Weselton. The talented group of actors joins Kristen Bell, Idina Menzel and Jonathan Groff in the epic adventure, directed by Chris Buck (“Tarzan,” “Surf’s Up”) and Jennifer Lee (screenwriter, “Wreck-It Ralph”), and produced by Peter Del Vecho (“Winnie the Pooh,” “The Princess and the Frog”). “Frozen” is slated for the big screen Nov. 27, 2013, and will be presented in 3D in select theaters.

MOVIES: Get a Horse debuts next week

Years and years and years ago, Walt Disney provided the voice for Mickey Mouse. It was the only time the entertainment empire builder did that. For whatever reason, Get a Horse was never released, lost it seemed, forever. A few months ago, the short was found in the Disney vaults, and next week, the movie will finally have its debut.

MOVIES: Disney announces first Marvel animated movie – Big Hero 6

Somewhere in the vast void of the Intardwebz, I mentioned that it was only a matter of time before Disney and Marvel teamed to bring us a comic based animated movie. That time is quickly approaching as Walt Disney Animation Studios has announced Big Hero 6, the animated movie.

MOVIES: Richard Madden joins Cinderella cast

The Walt Disney Studios have announced that Richard Madden of Game of Thrones fame, has been cast as the Prince in the upcoming live-action adaptation of the Cinderella fairy tale. We’ve learned previously that Cate Blanchett and Lily James had been hired as the wicked stepmother and Cinderella. I really have no idea when the release date for this movie is, but I am a tad interested in seeing this knowing that Sir Kenneth Branagh is directing.

MOVIES: The Muppets… AGAIN!

The filmmaking team behind 2011’s celebrated film “The Muppets” reunites as Disney’s “The Muppets … Again!” kicked off production last week in London. The all-new global Muppets adventure welcomes Ricky Gervais, Ty Burrell and Tina Fey to the mayhem, along with Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, Walter and rest of the Muppets. The film is directed by James Bobin (“Flight of the Conchords,” “Da Ali G Show”), who was just nominated for a BAFTA for “The Muppets” (Outstanding Debut by a British Writer, Director or Producer), and produced by the Academy Award®-nominated team of David Hoberman and Todd Lieberman (“The Fighter,” “The Proposal”). With a screenplay by Bobin and Nicholas Stoller (“The Five-Year Engagement”), who is also executive producer with John Scotti, “The Muppets … Again!” will feature music from Academy Award®-winning songwriter Bret McKenzie (“Flight of the Conchords”), who won an Oscar® for best original song for “The Muppets” (“Man or Muppet”). The new film will hit the big screen March 21, 2014.

MOVIES: Disney unveils Tomorrowland

For the longest time, a lot of people were wondering what the mystery project George Clooney was working on with The Walt Disney Studios.  The only clues we had were the working title, “1952″, that it was being directed by Brad Bird, and written by Damon Lindelof and Bird.  Now Disney has released the new title of the film, and it may give us a hint of what the story is about.

The Walt Disney Studios today announced a change up in its theatrical release schedule, that moves a couple of movies to new dates.  Included in the shuffle is Captain America and Guardians of the Galaxy.
