Those who liked the 1968 sexy space flick Barbarella starring Jane Fonda may either jump up and down in joy, or anger on the announcement that a remake of the film is in the works. Joe Gazzam is writing the script, with Robert Luketic signed to direct. “Barbarella” centers on a female mercenary who roams the universe of a distant future, undertaking missions that require fearlessness, ingenuity and sensuality. The character debuted in 1962 in a French graphic magazine written and illustrated by Jean-Claude Forest and was known for her sexual escapades. There also was a musical produced in 2004.

At the San Diego Comic Con, it was announced that the House of Ideas is sending three of its heroes to the LittleBigPlanet universe and turning them into Sackboys costumes. Marvel showed off three concept renders of Sackboys that may be coming to the PlayStation 3 exclusive, but did not offer dates for the costumes, nor confirm that this would be the extent of the Marvel characters that would be licensed for LittleBigPlanet use. Geoff Johns announced during the Smallville panel that he is writing an episode called Society that introduces the Justice Society of America to the Smallville universe.
