Marvel has released this first look at the upcoming Ultimates 2 #1 by Al Ewing and Travel Foreman.
With many comic stories being told in sequential format, it’s easy for readers to miss those all-important first several issues of a title. I know that I prefer to start at the beginning, so I’m sure many others do as well! Well, Marvel’s launching a new initiative to attract new and “lapsed” readers to return to the fold – they’re reprinting the first three issues of several books in what are being called “Timely Comics.”
Apparently more comics stores than usual were open on New Year’s Day, and it had to do with the shipping of some Marvel comics! WHAT HAPPENED I became aware of all this when one of my local comics shops, which always sends out an email indicating what new books will be available the following day, put out an email on New Year’s Eve, two days after their regular message appeared in my mailbox on Tuesday night. Their store would be open on New Year’s Day, selling several previously unreleased Marvel books. Here’s how this was all announced on the PreviewsWorld.com
It looks like Marvel isn’t ready to let go of the Ultimate Universe just yet – even though Galactus and his appetite made it look like it was all over. Marvel has announced it will rebrand the Ultimate Universe to Ultimate Marvel NOW! beginning in April, and will launch three titles that pick up where Cataclysm left off.
No, really. The House of Ideas is promising that the upcoming Ultimate Comics Ultimates issues (#15 and #16) will change the Utlimate Comics Universe forever in the conclusion of the United We Stand storyline. via Marvel
