TOY FAIR: G.I. JOE gets KRE-O treatment

A new line of KRE-O G.I. JOE building sets will be available exclusively at Toys “R” Us retail locations and www.Toysrus.com beginning in February 2013.  The addition of KRE-O G.I. JOE sets to the brand’s portfolio will offer the opportunity to build environments and vehicles to play out the G.I. JOE vs. COBRA fantasy and will feature KREON figures based on popular characters from both the heroic G.I. JOE team like DUKE and SNAKE EYES as well as the villainous COBRA organization like FIREFLY and STORM SHADOW.

TOY FAIR: G.I. JOE 2013 product line announced

The ‘original action figure’ returns in 2013 with new figures, role-play toys and more to deliver action and fun inspired by the G.I. JOE vs. COBRA saga!  The highly-anticipated movie, G.I. JOE: RETALIATION hits theaters on March 29th, 2013 in 3D and stars Dwayne Johnson, Channing Tatum, Bruce Willis, Adrianne Palicki and more. With the G.I. JOE: RETALIATION inspired line of toys, kids and fans can bring the movie alive at home with action figures sized from 3.75-inches to 12-inches tall and detailed vehicles to transport their squadrons to battle. With new role-play toys such as masks, swords and blasters, kids can imagine themselves as part of the G.I. JOE team. Hasbro will also introduce two new expressions for the G.I. JOE brand in 2013 including G.I. JOE MICRO FORCE – a collectible new battle twist featuring 66 micro-sized G.I. JOE and COBRA characters that offer mega-sized battles and fun – and KRE-O G.I. JOE building sets!

MOVIES: Are Skrulls the villains?

TOY FAIR: DC Direct unveils Before Watchmen and The Dark Knight Rises statues

DC Direct, the exclusive collectibles division of DC Entertainment, announced today an extensive line-up of new collectibles based on flagship publishing and film initiatives. Leading into New York Toy Fair, DC Direct unveiled two new collectible statues based on character art from the recently announced BEFORE WATCHMEN, a series of all-new stories that expand on the universe of best-selling graphic novel, WATCHMEN. Prototypes for Rorschach and Comedian statues will be unveiled at the show, kicking off the new BEFORE WATCHMEN product line that will go on sale later this year, exclusively from DC Direct.
