For years we’ve seen the Goon animated movie trailer floating around the Intardwebz with the hopes that Eric Powell’s characters would finally get H’wood money to make the movie a reality. Well, H’wood isn’t going to fork over the funds, so Blur Studio, Powell, David Fincher, and Dark Horse Comics are headed to Kickstarter to get the project off the ground.

With the focus on one of the series’ nastiest villains, The Goon #41 takes a step away from the title’s humor and focuses on some pretty horrific stuff. In a title known for its unique brand of eccentricity, how does this approach hold up? Read on, faithful Spolierite!

The Goon”s most desperate battle gets a high-class treatment, with a ritzy new design and featuring a new cover by Eric Powell! An ally of the Goon has learned the Zombie Priest”s secret name, turning the tide in the struggle against the undead hordes of Lonely Street and forcing the Priest to create a whole new breed of minion-one that may be beyond even the strength of the Goon to contain. As rival crime families attempt to use the battle as cover to move in on the Goon”s empire, open war breaks out from the docks to Lonely Street!
