I dig on fan films. Really well done fan films. The fan film allows creative types to present their vision of a particular property to the world. It’s just too bad that so many companies poo-poo the notion and rain on the parade of those who truly drink in the property. The good news is George Lucas is as keen on fan films as I am, and embraces the notion of fans creating and expanding the Star Wars universe. For nine years now, Lucasfilm, Ltd. and Atom.com have teamed for a Star Wars fan film contest, and want you to cast your vote before the end of the day today!
At the very least, if you don’t vote, you can at least check out the entrants before the winners are announced at the San Diego Comic-Con on Friday, July 24, 2009.
