The Free Comic Book Day (FCBD) Committee has announced its Gold Sponsor comic book selections for the comic book industry’s top annual event, Free Comic Book Day, scheduled for Saturday, May 4th, 2013. Next year marks the twelfth anniversary of Free Comic Book Day with another great year of incredible titles that feature fan-favorite comic book characters and encourage new readers to explore the fun and excitement that comics can offer.

Marvel’s kid friendly Super Hero Squad is making its way to the Cartoon Network with 26 episodes planned.Â For those not familiar with the cute characterizations of Marvel’s heroes, take a stroll down your local toy store ailse and be prepared to be weirded out by the deformed proportions and permanent smiles on the faces of everyone, including the bad guys.
Voice talent will include Tom Kenny (“SpongeBob SquarePants”), Charlie Adler (“Transformers”), Steve Blum (“Wolverine and the X-Men”) and Grey DeLisle (“The Fairly OddParents,” “The Replacements”).
The heroes expected to appear in the series include Captain America, Silver Surfer, Hulk, Wolverine and Iron Man.Â The show is being scheduled for a fall 2009 release.
Another month of new comics, and Image Comics has delievered the cover images and solicitation information for titles arriving in February 2009.Â Some big titles arriving this month from the company including the latest issue of Invincible. Be warned young ones, some of these titles are not for you.
