DIGITAL COMICS: Marvel Sneak Peek: Spider-Man: A Meal to Die For

Spider-Man is trying to horn in on everybody’s action, the latest is his team up with Top Chef, Eli Kirshtein.  The two team in Spider-Man: A Meal to Die For, and Marvel sent us a sneak peek for you to check out.

C.B. Cebulski, Marvel SVP of Creator & Content Development, added, “The more we explore the similarities between art and food worlds, the more we’ve discovered certain connections between chefs and comics, especially on a creative level. Upon hearing Eli was a comic fan, asking him to appear in a comic for us seemed like such a natural fit. The fact Eli was also open to playing an active role in the story and helped lend his culinary expertise to ideas on how to help Spidey out of a super-villain jam really added to the overall experience we had making this comic with him!”

Spider-Man joins the FF

I think we already know that Spider-Man is joining the FF (aka the Future Foundation), but what we didn’t know was how involved the wall crawler would be in the series.  We’ll find out how long he lasts in FF when the Sinister Six begin to plot away in Amazing Spider-Man #658 and #659.

“Spidey and the FF are really what Marvel is all about. And with both books firing on all cylinders right now, I couldn’t be happier to see their worlds overlap more” says Marvel Senior Editor, Stephen Wacker. “All of this is building up to some big moments for Spidey as his work with the FF comes at a pretty crucial time in his life. It’s going to be a dramatic summer for Spidey… to say the least.”

FEAR ITSELF: Spider-Man the target in Marvel event

When Fear Itself gets around to Spider-Man this May, Christopher Yost and Mike McKone put the web slinger front and center as the last hero standing.

“Everything I’ve seen so far from Fear Itself has given me chills,” said Editor Stephen Wacker. “Yost who really found the way into the story by pinpointing the sheer humanity of Spidey and the fact that Fear Itself would affect Peter Parker more deeply than just about any other hero.”

Spider-Man joins the FF, gets another new costume

If the previous teaser images from Marvel didn’t have you believing that Peter Parker would be joining the remaining members of the Fantastic Four, the latest news confirms it.

After the death of the Human Torch, the surviving members of the Fantastic Four—Mr. Fantastic, Invisible Woman & Thing—join with Spider-Man and some top secret members to form an unstoppable force: The Future Foundation. Their mission is simple: save the Marvel Universe from its greatest threats and prevent future dangers from arising. But even with knowledge of what’s to come and one of the most powerful teams ever assembled, just what villainous force could stand in their way?

The series is written by Jonathan Hickman, with art by Steve Epting, and according to Tom Brevoort, “FF will alter the very fabric of the Marvel Universe.”

Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark Postponed… AGAIN!

I don’t know why the production company didn’t see the signs six months ago and stop production on Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark.  Plagued with injuries, the musical has been postponed, postponed again, and now, opening night is getting yet another bump.

The press release has all the information, and though this seems like one of the biggest white elephants in entertainment, the preview shows pushed Spider-Man to be the number one box office grossing show on Broadway.
