Those who are still playing DC Universe Online will be happy to learn that Sony is still putting out downloadable content. The next pack arrives in September, and features a Doctor Fate themed experience.

DC Entertainment and Sony have posted a new character wallpaper image of the Scarecrow for the upcoming DC Universe Online MMORPG.
It seems we’re getting a lot more teaser images and videos from Sony and DC than we did before the companies shifted the release date. In addition to the game play problems users have encountered with the beta, I wonder if lack of major publicity and advertising played a role in the delay?
DC Universe Online Sneak Peek
There’s no word on why Sony Online Entertainment decided to delay the release of DC Universe Online other than the statement the company made earlier in the week, but that hasn’t stopped them from trying to generate more buzz with another video of actual combat from the game.
OH NOES! DC Universe Online DELAYED until 2011
Word from gaming site Kotaku has Sony Online Entertainment and DC Entertainment’s massively multiplyer online game DC Universe Online getting a release date bump. Originally scheduled for November 2, 2010 that game now has an unannounced 2011 release date.
“As the game heads into external beta testing, this extra time will allow us to address community feedback in a meaningful way,” SOE president John Smedley said. “When we get deeper into external beta, we’ll be able to share more information regarding the new launch date.”
Hmmm… not being in on the Beta, I can’t imagine what community feedback has occurred to push the game back, but it must be distressing enough for the game developers that a massive fix is in the process.

Sony Online Entertainment and DC Entertainment have released another set of image from the upcoming DC Universe Online game, this time focusing on Wonder Woman.
DCU Online announces voice cast
Sony Online Entertainment has announced the cast members who will provide the voices for the characters in the upcoming DC Universe Online MMORPG.
Voice Cast Announced So Far:
- The Joker: Mark Hamill
- Batman: Kevin Conroy
- Superman: Adam Baldwin
- Wonder Woman: Gina Torres
- Lex Luthor: James Marsters
- Circe: Michelle Forbes
“We’re excited that not only will Mark and Kevin bring their talent back to the DC Universe as part of DC Universe Online, but we’ve hit the jackpot with a full cast that are veterans of all the movies, TV shows, and games that our fans are crazy about,” said Sony Online Entertainment Vice President of Development John Blakely. “Several of these actors are recognized as the definitive voices for these characters, and will help us in creating an authentic and exciting experience for fans when they get in the game.”
The fun arrives November 2, 2010 for the PC and Playstation 3.

Sony Online Entertainment unveiled the next character to show up in the DC Universe Online game. Power Girl should give some fanboys reason to stick with the good guys and align themselves with the likes of Kara Zor-El.
