MSP#42: Max…SuperMAX!

Major Spoilers #42

UPDATE:  There’s an audio error due to editing, where Matthew is out of sync for the first 45 minutes of the show.  I won’t be able to fix this until later tonight, when I’m done with my video work.

This time around, we lament the loss of a new imprint, some old friends, and Stephen’s patience. Meanwhile, Rodrigo’s in the timestream, Stephen’s in Free Fall, and Matthew’s in Tower City, while Skrull Bryan decides that if he can’t take over the world, he’ll at least be the lord of Bogey’s drive-in… Plus: we know your mama dresses you funny, so why not win sompin for wearing a funny suit? It’s all this and Cellblock Four as Major Spoilers provides the answer to the ultimate question of life, the universe and everything!

SDCC’08: Marvel’s X-Men Panel

XMENINFR001_COV_COLv2.jpgHere’s a quick wrap up of the talking points from Thursday’s Marvel Comics X-Men Panel.

  • The move to San Francisco is a big deal for the X-Men and will be big factor in the characters that come in and out of the title.
  • The team in Uncanny X-Men will be a rotating cast so there won’t always be the same characters running around.
  • Look for the Sisterhood of Evil Mutants coming to the Uncanny series.
  • A new Wolverine villain was announced.  Apparently the guy can punch a guy in the soul. Ouch.
  • X Infernus is the next big X-Men miniseries that will feature the return of Magik.  The series will launch in December with C.B. Cebulski writing. Look for Iceman to have a big part in the series.
  • Jean Gray may return, but not soon, as the company is not wanting to rush that project.
  • Look for more Gambit, Slipstream, Lifeguard, and possibly Apocalypse in the near future.
  • The panel discussed the apparent non-interaction between the X-Men and the rest of the Marvel Universe.
  • That whole Angel wing thing from Uncanny X-Men and X-Force is going to be resolved soon.  A possible Skrull reveal?
  • Uncanny X-Men #504 will address the fate/state of Kitty Pride.

Check the latest Major Spoilers Podcast for Rodrigo’s take on Uncanny X-Men #500.
