What would San Diego Comic Con be without the throngs of people vying for a chance to spend big money on an original Adam Hughes sketch?  I’m super bummed I don’t have an original on my wall (yet), but I can always offset it with image of Adam’s sketches he’s done over the years. Today’s entry into the Art Appreciation Moment of the Day comes from Adam’s 2009 San Diego Comic Con Sketch Book.

Marvel Comics has unveiled the variant cover to the upcoming Wonderful Wizard of Oz #1 by artist J. Scott Campbell.  The $3.99 first issue arrives December 10, 2008 and is written by Eric Shanower with interior art by Skottie Young. Marvel recently released a free sketch book for the series.   if you missed it, you can check it out at the Marvel Digital Comics site. I love Skottie Young’s art, and there is something interesting about reading different interpretations of the classic Baum story, so I’ll probably pick it up. via Marvel
