The third installment of Dark Knight III is set to arrive in stores on March 9th, and the publisher is showing off many of the variant covers for the issue.
Or – “Their Stories Continue, Even If Their Books Tanked…” Many years ago, I came to the sad conclusion that my favorite titles won’t ever be big sellers with the general public. Because of that sad paradigm, it came to be that I was reading and enjoying roughly 60% of the cancelled product of the New 52 thus far. Although I didn’t read much beyond the first issue of Blackhawks, I appreciated their pedigree, and I have to say that it’s good to see O.M.A.C., Mister Terrific and Deadman again. Or – “Where Will Static Turn Up Next?” Though many people predicted that some of the New 52 would not make it past 9 issues, I was extremely surprised to find that Static Shock was one of the first books to go down swingin’. As stories about the creative difficulties on this book come to light, I find myself unsurprised (but still saddened) by Virgil’s latest cancellation. Will this last issue tie up everything for Dakota’s finest hero?
DC Comics has announced that Static Shock will finally return to his own book this spring thanks to writer Felicia Henderson and artists Scott McDaniel and Jonathan Glapion. I always had my fingers crossed about Static getting his own book, again. In fact, I stalked Dan DiDio about the idea. I’m also a big Dwayne McDuffie fan, and if I could choose my real life little brother, he’d be Static! I love his relationship with his family, particularly with his sister.
