SDCC’11: Marvel takes over the Palm for Comic Con

The Palm Restaurant in San Diego is about to get Marvel-ous with the appearance of Marvel Architect Humberto Ramos (Amazing Spider-Man)! Celebrating this year’s Comic-Con International, Ramos will add to the restaurant’s famous comic book mural (already featuring art by John Romita SR, John Romita JR, Simone Bianchi, Mike Choi, Mark Brooks, Leinil Yu, Reilly Brown and more) at 2:00PM PST on Wednesday, July 20. Stop by for food, drinks and a chance to see Humberto work his magic as Marvel commemorates their fifth year of making history with the Palm!

The Palm Restaurant is located on 615 J Street in the heart of San Diego’s entertainment district!

SDCC’11: Craig Yoe to debut four books at convention

SDCC’11: DC to give away bagpacks

Every year at the San Diego Comic Con, one company emerges as the one giving away the best bags.  In the past TokyoPop has been the giant bag company to run to at the beginning of the show, but this year, DC Comics may have the title cinched with this bag that turns into a backpack.

Speaking of giveaways, be sure to stop by the DC booth to say hello and pick up some great items. SDCC’11: Marvel teases Fear Itself Panel… AGAIN!

Here’s the latest It’s In You Or It’s Not teaser from Marvel regarding the upcoming San Diego Comic Con Fear Itself Panel.

Some interesting emails and comments are coming in from Spoilerites, who have been taking the colored letters and trying to spell out words.  This go around we have NEAGOELONLWLVEISIESVS, which obviously translates to WOLVERINE LIVES NEAGOLESS… or something like that.

SDCC’11: Benaroya Publishing announces signing schedule

Next week, as the San Diego Comic Con, Benaroya Publishing will share space with Image Comics and its bringing many of its writers and artists to the booth for signings.

Located at the Image Comics booth #: 2729, Benaroya will feature such artists as Tomm Coker (Undying Love), Jo Chen (Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season Eight), Nam Kim (Starcraft: Frontline), Matt Dalton (Warcraft: Legends), as well as Benaroya writers Jeff Cahn (Red Spike), Owen Wiseman (Samurai’s Blood) and David Baxter (Marksmen). Fans visiting the Benaroya booth will also have the opportunity to pick up SDCC exclusive variant covers for MARKSMEN #1 and SAMURAI’S BLOOD #2.

SDCC’11: Hermes Press holds talent search

Press Release

Hermes Press is gearing up to launch original graphic novels and comic books, and is looking for the right talent! We’ll be doing our first ever portfolio review, for pencilers and inkers only, at the San Diego Comic-Con for three days:

  • Thursday in room PR A from 10 AM to 12 PM
  • Saturday in room PR B from 3 PM to 5 PM
  • Sunday in room PR B from 10 AM to 12 PM
