CASUAL 60: Ravenous, Ravenous Rhinos

Magic 2012 is here and it looks to be an excellent core set so far. One of the cards that I’m most excited about is Adaptive Automaton, since it gives us a ‘lord’ creature for any tribe. What does that mean? Well, that means that you can throw an eighth elf lord into your elfball deck, but it also means that creature types that previously were not covered can now get some +1/+1 action.

Marvel launches new Spider-Man monthly

Marvel has announced, that following Amazing Spider-Man #600, the company will debut Web of Spider-Man in October.  This will be a new ongoing title that will feature Spider-Girl stories in the issue as well.

“With the ‘Gauntlet’ storyline starting up and many classic adversaries of Spider-man coming back to the book, we wanted to find a place to tell you more about them without it eating up too many pages of the thrice-weekly Amazing Spider-Man,” explained series editor Steve Wacker. “So while were tossing ideas around on where to best put that stuff, beleaguered assistant Tom Brennan came up with the notion to bring back the “Web” title as a way to give a home to stories to people caught up in Pete’s life. Starting with the first issue’s Kaine story by JM DeMatteis and then continuing onto stories about Electro, the Rhino, the Lizard and many more by Web-Head Fred van Lente and regular Spidey artist Barry Kitson, the stories here directly impact what we’re doing in Amazing Spider-Man!”

The company is packing a lot into this first $3.99 issue, including a zombie variant cover – because we all know people are clamoring for more zombie variants.

The Spectacular Spider-Man Sneak Peek

On Monday, June 29, 2009, Disney XD airs a brand new episode of The Spectacular Spider-Man featuring Robert Englund reprising his role at the Vulture.

As Christmas approaches, the SINISTER SIX reconstitutes with SANDMAN, RHINO, VULTURE, ELECTRO and new members MYSTERIO and KRAVEN.  All they want for Christmas is SPIDER-MAN – dead.  Meanwhile, PETER PARKER finds his wandering eye prevents him from being with GWEN STACY.  He’ll have to learn to focus if he wants to get the girl… and if he wants to stay alive.

Two More of Rhino

Don’t forget, this weekend on The Kids’ WB! the Rhino makes his debut on The Spectacular Spider-Man. I’m glad the TiVo is still recording this show for me as I’ll want to watch this one to see/hear Clancy Brown in the role of Rhino.

The CW was kind enough to send along a couple of extra shots of Rhino all glammed up.
