Review: DC Comics Presents: Lobo #1

Lobo’s back and that means it’s time to showcase some of his old adventures. But why did DC choose to collect a rather sorry group of relatively recent, unrelated stories? If the Main Man doesn’t get some answers soon, he’s going to stab Superman with a hook.

Mouse Guard: Fall 1152 back to press… again

As a testament to the continuing strength of the Mouse Guard brand and Archaia Entertainment’s commitment to its creators, the publisher announced today that after selling 80,000 copies of David Petersen’s Mouse Guard Vol. 1: Fall 1152 hardcover since its original release in 2007, the title is going back to press. Archaia’s third printing of 10,000 copies, which are scheduled to arrive in stores in March, was expected to last over a 12-month period, but a deluge of advanced ordering due to the announcement of more Mouse Guard volumes has prompted the possibility of a fourth printing to commence in the coming months.

Ultimate X #1 back to print

If you missed the big reveal in Ultimate X #1, fear not, as the sold out (at the distributor) first issue is heading back to press, according to Marvel.

Comics legend Jeph Loeb and superstar artist Arthur Adams finally answer the biggest question in the Ultimate Universe: “Who—or what—is Ultimate X?” In the wake of the disastrous Ultimatum Wave, a new player in the Ultimate Universe will emerge and change everything!

If you’ve seen the original cover, the big reveal is spelled out right there for you, but if you still need another clue, the variant cover features the last page of the issue.  The reprint is scheduled to arrive March 10, 2010.

Mass Effect #2 sells out

Dark Horse announced that the second issue of its Mass Effect comic book based on the video game sold out  at the distributor level, and will be headed back to press.

Mass Effect: Redemption tells the exciting back-story that led up to the events of Mass Effect 2, the recently released video game developed by the award-winning creative team at BioWare. The game’s lead writer Mac Walters takes up the pen to give fans exclusive insight into the events that unfolded between the conclusion of the original Mass Effect, and the beginning of Mass Effect 2. Scripted by John Jackson Miller (Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic, The Invincible Iron Man) and drawn by Omar Francia (Star Wars Legacy), this four-part series explores the exotic and dangerous future Milky Way of Mass Effect, revealing previously unseen locations, aliens, and enemies of this rich science fiction landscape.

Incorruptible #2 back to press

Boom! Studios let Major Spoilers know that Mark Waid’s Incorruptible sold out once again at the distributor level. If you can’t find the first run of the issue, your local comic book shop can order the second printing from Diamond Comics, or from Haven Distributors.  The second printing features interior art by Jean Diaz, and a distressed variant art of Dennis Calero for the cover.

Fall of the Hulks sells out, back to press

If you are avidly reading the Fall of the Hulks series, Marvel has announced Incredible Hulk #606 and Hulk #19 have both sold out and are going back to press with new variant covers.

The reprints will arrive February 24, 2010.  Or, if you are really desperate, you might check with your local comic shop as there may still be copies available.

Last Days of American Crime #1 back on shelves

Radical Publishing let us know that the reprinting of The Last Days of American Crime #1 is in stores today, alongside issue #2.

The Last Days of American Crime takes place in the not-too-distant future, where the U.S. government plans in secret to broadcast a signal making it impossible for anyone to knowingly commit unlawful acts as a final response to terrorism and crime. To keep this from the public, the government creates a distraction, installing a new currency system using digital charge cards. Graham Bricke, a career criminal never quite able to hit the big score, intends to steal one of the charging stations, skip the country and live off unlimited funds for the rest of his life. But the media has leaked news of the anti-crime signal one week before it was to go live… and now Graham and his team have just a few days to turn the heist of the century into the last crime in American history.

With the announcement that Iron Man Stark Disassembled (Invincible Iron Man #21 and #22) have sold out at the distributor level, Marvel let us know that both issues are going back to press for a second printing, complete with variant covers.

Siege: The Cabal #1 returns with new printing

If you are still interested in the Siege: The Cabal, and your comic shop doesn’t have any left, the second printing of the issue will be heading your way on January 6, 2010.  The issue features Norman Osborn and Doctor Doom slugging it out, while Loki conspires to attack Asgard.  The variant cover features Michael Lark’s interior artwork on the cover.

X-Force #21 sells out, back to print of course

Marvel has announced the latest installment of the X-Necrosha storyline that appeared in X-Force #21 caused the issue to sell out at the distributor level, prompting the company to send the issue back to press.  X-Force #21, featuring a variant cover by Clayton Crain arrives in stores on December 23, 2009, and features a cover price of $2.99.
